Luis Sampedro

Hi, I'm Luis SAMPEDRO

Naval Architect & Maritime Engineer from Galicia, working at the intersection of high-performance sailing, data analysis and engineering design.

In this project I try to create my personal space online, containing my projects and, especially, my data analysis tools and image processing software.

Project tools

These are the projects and applications I am developing inside this space. Some are already fully functional, while others are still work in progress.

LS Sail Scan (L3S)

[NEW] Upload a sail photo and automatically analyze draft position and depth using computer vision.

Beta version: 3.0 · Click to open

LS Data Lab (LSDL)

Online workspace for processing nautical data: GPS logs, sensor streams and race tracks. Inspired by other sailing data analysis tools, focused on speed, VMG and manoeuvre analysis.

Status: Beta version 1.5 · Click to open

International Moth Simulator (SiM)

My MSc Project: A 6-DOF dynamic simulator for the International Moth class. Physics-based modelling of hydrofoils, aero-hydrodynamics and flight control systems.

Status: Finished · Click to view

LS Current App (LSC App)

[NEW] Tool to visualise currents, wind and racecourse data together. Designed to help understand how external conditions affect routing, laylines and tactical decisions on the racecourse.

Status: Release v2.1 · Click to open

LS Nav (LSN)

[NEW] A marine navigation web-app with integrated high-resolution charts, live GPS tracking, and route planning. Built for navigating the Galician coast.

Status: Release v1.0 · Click to open

LS Design Tools (LSD)

A collection of small utilities for yacht design: hull and foil parameter explorers, basic VPP-style calculators and links with CFD workflows.

Status: concept · UI placeholder

LS Foiling Academy (LSFA)

Central hub for courses, talks and hands-on experiences about high-performance sailing: learn how to sail foiling boats, understand Moth technique, improve boat handling and gain real on-water knowledge.

Status: concept · content in progress
